What is VoIP?

VoIP is an acronym for Voice over Internet Protocol.

Is my network VoIP ready? How much bandwidth do I need?

To determine if your network is VoIP-ready and the amount of bandwidth required, you can perform a VoIP network assessment. This test evaluates metrics such as jitter, packet loss, and MOS scores, as well as upload/download capacity, SIP ALG detection, and the maximum number of concurrent VoIP calls your internet connection can support. Generally, VoIP calls typically require 80-100 kbps of bandwidth per concurrent call, but this can vary based on the audio codec used, the desired audio quality, and other network traffic.

Can I keep my current phone number?

Certainly, you have the option to retain your existing phone number by filling out a transfer document that will be supplied to you. The duration of the portability process may vary from 10 to 30 days, depending on your former provider.

Which type of phone should I use with CONNECT3?

Connect3 offers a "Bring-Your-Own-Device" service, allowing the use of any standard SIP phone. Unlike certain VoIP providers, we do not restrict phones with proprietary software. Additionally, Connect3 provides resources to learn about VoIP phone reviews, promotions, and purchasing new phones.

How many simultaneous calls will my CONNECT3 phone number support?

All phone numbers provided by CONNECT3, including both local/international and toll-free numbers, support an unlimited number of simultaneous calls.

Can I get a new phone number?

Indeed, we provide phone numbers for Puerto Rico, the United States, and international locations. Additionally, we offer both Toll-Free and Vanity numbers.
